At the 2025 LESK Seminar and Member Night in Seoul, Evalueserve presented how Artificial Intelligence is being applied to reshape licensing and IP workflows. The session moved beyond theory and shared practical outcomes from projects where AI and expert judgment worked together to generate measurable benefits.

The guiding question was direct:

“Can AI deliver real value in the innovation lifecycle?”

A New Model for AI in Toxicology Consulting

The presentation introduced Evalueserve’s D3 Framework – Diagnose, Design, Deploy, a structured approach for integrating AI into IP and Toxicology Consulting. Instead of treating AI as a stand-alone tool, the model places it within a workflow where automation manages routine processes and human expertise provides interpretation and strategic oversight.

This approach produced precise results:

  1. Thousands of hours saved annually, eliminating repetitive transcription, burdensome QC checks, and manual data collection.
  2. Increased consistency and reliability across toxicological endpoints, giving regulatory teams confidence in their submissions.
  3. Faster cycle times in chemical safety evaluations, enabling the company to maintain speed-to-market without compromising compliance.
  4. Higher-value contributions from experts, as toxicologists, could now dedicate more time to risk assessment, research, and regulatory engagement rather than mechanical tasks.

Other Practical Applications

The session highlighted cases where AI created efficiency and strategic advantage:

  1. Prior art and literature review: Faster identification of relevant materials
  2. Technology classification: Streamlined organization to support competitive intelligence
  3. Portfolio analysis: AI-supported insights that sharpened licensing opportunities

These applications showed how AI not only reduces costs but also strengthens decision-making in complex licensing environments.

Perspectives Across the Seminar

Other speakers reinforced the transformative role of AI in IP. Bae Dong-seok, Vice President of Intelligent Discovery, presented on AI-driven patent monetization and Korea’s untapped patent potential, while Jean Christophe Troussel, President of the International Licensing Executives Society, emphasized the need for global collaboration to advance licensing practices.

Looking Ahead: LES APAC 2026 in Seoul

The seminar concluded with the announcement of the LES Asia-Pacific Conference 2026, to be held at the Fairmont Ambassador Hotel, Yeouido, on October 25–26, 2026, under the theme:

“IP in Motion: From K-Creativity to Global Prosperity.”

Kim Joo-seop, President of LESK, noted:

“Intellectual property is realized through licensing. This conference will be an essential platform to look at the future licensing landscape and exchange expertise.”

Conclusion

The 2025 LESK Seminar confirmed that AI is no longer a theoretical concept in the licensing industry. It is a working tool that, when paired with human expertise, creates efficiency, ensures reliability, and strengthens global competitiveness.
